The place for Eskimo art and Eskimo crafts.

The term 'Eskimo' is an early explorers name

for the Inupiaq and the Siberian Yupik people

living in the Northern reaches of Alaska.

The art of the people of the Arctic is based on the Crafts

that have allowed these people to live in the northern climate

for thousands of years. The natural resources of the arctic provided

the material for tools which allowed them to earn a living in harsh

conditions. Ivory, bone and fur proved both useful and decorative,

becoming woven into the art of the lifestyle.
